Lucky Coin of Mad Sweeney Artifact, wondrous item (requires attunement)
Tuatha Dé Danann, better known as Mad Sweeney was the bastard son of Sqeulaiche, the demigod of leprechauns, trickery, and illusions. Squalaiche was the royal jester of the Seelie Court, and a member of Queen Titania's inner circle and Mad Sweeney was the product of a passionate, but short-lived affair between Squalaiche and a young female saytr who served the goddess Hanali Celanil. Being of satyr blood, Mad Sweeney is much taller than other leprechauns with a red beard, a constant impish smirk, and a high tolerance for wine.
Mad Sweeney had a penchant for mischief and debauchery, pranking members of the court, and sleeping with various married and unmarried women. The final straw was when he seduced and bedded Verenestra, the daughter of Queen Titania and he was banished from the court and the Feywild. Before he was forced into exile, Squalaiche game him a lucky coin from his hoard to help guide Mad Sweeney through life.
Gilded Tongue. While attuned to the coin, your Charisma score increases by 2 and you can read, speak, and write Elvish and Sylvan.
Lucky Life. The coin has the following properties while attuned to it:
You can’t be charmed or frightened. You are proficient with the Sleight of Hand skill. Giants are always hostile towards you and attack you on sight, even if they don't see the coin. Master of Illusions and Tricks. The coin has 8 charges. You can use an action and expend 1 or more charges to cast one of the following spells (save DC 18) from it: charm person (1 charge), greater invisibility (5 charges), major image (3 charges), and Otto's irresistible dance (6 charges).
Lucky. The Lucky Coin grants the person who possesses it one luck point, which replenishes after finishing a long rest. Whenever you roll an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check, you can spend one luck point to roll an additional d20. You can choose to spend one of your luck points after you roll the die, but before the outcome is determined. You choose which of the d20s is used for the attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. You can also spend one luck point when an attack roll is made against you. Roll a d20, and then choose whether the attack uses the attacker’s roll or yours.
Curse. While you are attuned to the coin, you have two weaknesses, gold and wine. If offered 1,000 gold or more, or wine of the finest quality and comparable price, you are forced to offer your services to perform a task. The task typically can't last longer than 1 day per 1,000 gold offered, but you are required to do everything in your power to complete it within that time frame or lose 1,000 gp for each day you don't, even if that money isn't on your person. Upon completing the task, you are freed from any more responsibility. If you are unable to finish a task and lose all your money due to this curse, you are freed from the curse and take 20d10 psychic damage.
