Content of the article: "Best Build for a HALF-ORC BOWMASTER?"
Hello, everybody! Today, I want to do a bit of planning for a depiction of a character of mine — Gromo Sharpeye, son of Orlo Sharpeye and brother of Bane Sharpeye. Gromo is a Half-Orc, but he isn't half human. He's half elf! I'll include his race (a homebrew I've made) later in the post.
The Sharpeyes are known for their exceptional prowess with bows, and Gromo is no exception. Gromo also has a bit of magic thanks to his Elvish side, so maybe that could come into play in the build.
So, Gromo is a half Orc, half High Elf, bowmaster. I'm not sure how to build one, though.
Here's the race I've made for Gromo in case anyone has any ideas that correlate with what Gromo's race offers:
Ability Score Increase: Your Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence scores each increase by 1.
Age: Half-Orc/Half High Elves are so rare that they don’t have a distinguished name for what they are called, let alone a defined lifespan. But it can be assumed that they age slowly, living to be around 300 years old.
Alignment: Doesn’t bloody matter. He’s Lawful Good.
Size: HO/HHEs range from about 5 feet tall to over 6 feet tall, and they have bizarre, long, but somewhat gearthy limbs while not appearing muscular. Your size is Medium.
Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision: Thanks to the sharp eyes of your ancestors, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Fey Ancestry: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Skilled: You gain proficiency with one skill of your choice and one weapon of your choice, or proficiency in two skills of your choice.
Cling to Life: HO/HHEs commonly face ridicule by their parent societies, and they are often left with nothing. If you’ve come this far, surely there is something keeping you going.
You can cling to life in the face of death. When you succeed on a death saving throw, you regain 1 Hit Point. You cannot use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
Cantrip: You know one cantrip of your choice from the Wizard spell list. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for it.
Awkward Composition: By both Elves and Orcs of most communities, you are considered something of an abomination. You have disadvantage on any Charisma checks made towards Elves and Orcs with which you are not allied.
Languages: You can read, speak, and write Common, Elvish, and Orc.
I'm not asking for critique on the homebrew. That's just there as a potential inspiration/foundation for ideas.
SO! With that out of the way, what would your ideas be for a build for a Half Orc/Half High Elf bowmaster?
