Sorry this one is a little late. I had a pretty busy weekend and couldn't get this out earlier.
The player count is calculated by taking the number of teams (taken on FortniteTracker) and multiplying it by 3. This isn't 100% accurate, since it is possible that people restart on different teams, but it gives us an idea on how many people that are playing.
***NOTE: I was made aware last week that FortniteTracker only reports the number of teams that make the Top 10K at any point in the tournament. Therefore, NAE, BR, and EU (especially) have significantly more players than recorded in the all the graphs below. The player counts below are NOT estimated. NAW, ASIA, ME, and OCE have player bases small enough that these numbers are accurate.***
Now let's look at it broken down by Percentage:
Here's the current prize pool breakdown (by percent) for reference:
Points to Qualify (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Round 4, Heats)
Some things to note:
*EU + NAE: Top 1,500 Round 1 -> 2, Top 250 Round 2 -> 3, Top 33 Round 3 -> 4, Top 10 Round 4 -> Semi-Final Heats Auto-Qual
^NAW + BR: Top 1,500 Round 1 -> 2, Top 200 Round 2 -> 3, Top 33 Round 3 -> 4, Top 10 Round 4 -> Semi-Final Heats Auto-Qual
**ASIA, ME, OCE: Top 700 Round 1 -> 2, Top 150 Round 2 -> 3, Top 33 Round 3 -> 4, Top 10 Round 4 -> Semi-Final Heats Auto-Qual
Now let's see the change in points to qualify from Round 1 to 2 from the previous two qualifiers:
The likely reason why there is a point trend downward compared to Qualifier 1 is likely due to the queue bug as well as the top teams in each region qualifying. Usually there is a trend upward week after week, so these are really the only explanations.
If I were aiming for a certain number of points to qualify to Round 2 next week, I would aim for at least this to be extremely safe:
- EU: 139-144
- NAE: 125-130
- NAW: 107-112
- BR: 117-122
- ASIA: 111-116
- ME: 109-114
- OCE: 71-76
Now let's see the change in points to qualify from Round 2 to 3:
My target for qualifying to Round 3 is around here to be extremely safe:
- EU/NAE: 108-112
- NAW/BR: 113-118
- ASIA/ME: 99-104
- OCE: 101-106
Round 3 & 4 are not really worth showing because those rounds have massive variations naturally.
