Gameplay of a solo 160 RTL (metal corrosion, exploding deathbomb, wall weakening, several smashers, and an invisible miniboss)

Yesterday I posted a video of a solo 160 RTS where I used just several traps in a damage build and got an easy win despite never-ending propanes.

I posted that video and am posting this video just to show people that the 160 missions really are not that hard to beat without a jail and it will not cost you a stack of traps. Some people (not all) think they are near impossible to beat unless you spam a hundred traps from the spawn points to the objective.

Here is the video (the building starts at 5 minutes and the defense starts at 19 minutes).

I used 13 floor spikes, 10 tire drops, 9 wall launchers, 4 broadsides, and fruitlessly wasted 2 anti-air traps. Floor spikes cost nothing important to craft (I’ve never found carved twine to be hard to farm, but if I did then I would just downcraft them as I mostly use them just for the snare effect). The rest of the traps used up 28 efficient, 26 oxi, and 4 quartz. I also used a bunch of rocket ammo for my potshot (if you find coal to be a problem to farm, you can farm a ton of it in Crackshots Neighborhood pretty easily, or run Endurance and get stacks of rocket ammo).

That is not much crafting materials to successfully solo a 160 mission that had several smashers spawn and had what are generally considered to be two of the worst modifiers (deathbombs and wall weakening). None of the T3 metal walls around the objective were breached by the smashers and I only remember seeing one structure in my trapping areas get destroyed by exploding deathbomb.

I agree that the drop rates of 5-star materials in high Twine need a serious buff, but you don’t need to waste a stack of efficient, a stack of oxi, and half a stack of quartz each time you do a 160 mission (as some people seem to think).

And, yes, I know it is more than what you would use in a jail, but with the possible nerfing of jail builds on the horizon people may soon have to start learning how to make efficient damage builds and may have to get accustomed to using more than three traps to beat the hardest content in the game. Shocking, I know.

A shoutout to u/mitch_robbs for his recent video on how to properly orient tire drop traps to maximize their ability to stall husks.
