Imagine going to tho local basketball court to play a game with strangers because you wanna shoot some hoops. Unfortunately for you, you get one random in your team that has no idea how to play. He's randomly passing the ball around, he can't shoot for shit and doesn't understand the concept of blocking. He essentially ruins the game by guaranteeing a loss or making the win much harder and less fun that it would normally would be. You tell him you don't want him playing in your team and ask him to go learn the game first.
He goes, "Bruh! I play basketball for fun. Ya'll have such bad sportsmanship for not putting up with me. You should endure playing with me because I find it to tedious to go actually learn the game by reading tips or watching videos on what to do. Or maybe, you could even waste your precious time by teaching me how to play the game directly, cause that's way easier and more fun for me. I couldn't care less about how you guys feel about that. All I know is that if you don't, clearly you're the mean ones and are total buzzkills. I'm playing for fun, not as a second job. Fuck learning or practicing. Deal with it."
Do you know how obnoxious this guy sounds?
The majority of people want to play the game optimally because it's what they want to do. If you want to play it by going in blind or by playing inefficiently/randomly because you find that way more fun, by all means, do so. There is no 'correct' way to play a game. However, since you want to do that, either put in effort into finding like-minded people that will entertain or stop being upset that the majority don't enjoy your idea of how you want the game to be played.
Yes, it'd be nice if randoms were more polite and bothered to waste their time teaching you but honestly one has to be pretty fucking entitled to expect strangers on the internet to waste their time being nice when you have no intentions of compromising on your side.
- Should we remove SBMM outside of Destiny as well?
- How does one become “good” at a game?
- Solo QuickPlay experience is horrible
