On August 8, 2020, Tabletop Simulator held a contest.

It was simple… make a clever Tabletop Simulator meme with the hashtags #tabletopsimulatorcontest, #tabletopsimulator, and #boardgames. I submitted a post, as seen here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CDpDwBxMDSF/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

You can see on this post the comment from nopnoc. It merely says… This is funny this will win

It did not win.

I failed nopnoc and Tabletop Simulator.

As an apology, I created this game and am making it available to the public.

What is Super Smash Battle Royale?

Super Smash Battle Royale is a two player strategy battle game where players form teams of 5 characters spanning across franchises involved in the Super Smash Bros. series.

At the time of this writing there are 265 playable characters, or All-Stars as they are called in the game, and I plan to add many more, expanding on already existing franchises and adding more.

The core mechanics of Super Smash Battle Royale are simple. Your characters get two Action Phases to perform Movements and Attacks. You battle to defeat the enemy All-Stars and destroy their Sandbags to gather Smash Points. First to 60 Smash Points, wins the game.

But that's only on the surface. As you dig into the game, learn how every All-Star's unique Abilities work, how every combination of All-Stars interact with one another… you will see that there is a lot to learn.

How do I play?

I have made games of this kind for a long time but this is the first time I have made one available to the public. If you find something jank in the rulebook or game, it's probably my fault, not the games. That being said, I welcome any critiques, suggestions, etc., both towards the presentation of the game and the balance of it.

This game in particular is the result of many years of theory crafting and experimenting with design. Somewhere around the 137th character it became sort of a challenge to see how many movesets I could make that would both accurately represent the character and fill an interesting role/niche in team comps. To that end, I will keep adding characters to this game until I am physically unable to.

I'm Sorry Tabletop Simulator

I hope you'll forgive me.
