Content of the article: "Should I buy a PC?"
This might be kind of a no brainer for some people but it’s something I’ve been really debating for a while now.
I’ve always played PlayStation, I’ve had every one of them. I’m looking forward to the PS5 and already the money put aside. I also really like the exclusives that are on the PlayStation. But for the last 2 years I’ve been getting more interested in trying PC gaming, I’d probably use a controller the majority of the time though. I like the idea that I have more control over the system and the wider range of games.
The big thing holding me back is price and knowledge. I’ve read people saying that you want to put at least $750+ into the hardware which doesn’t include screen, keyboard and mouse. So it seems like more of a $1000+ for a decent PC where I’ll have the freedom to play pretty much anything I want. Then there’s the lack of knowledge, I know my way around a PC decently well in terms of how to use it. When it comes to the ins and outs and how to actually build one, what everything means, all the little technical things, it’s just kind of overwhelming to me. I don’t want to get a pre-built one because if I’m gonna get more into it I want to build it myself, that way I know what all the components are. I tried using Newegg’s build thing where they pick out the parts and it was already at $900+, but I’m not sure how good the parts actually are. I don’t want to spend a whole lot just because I don’t feel super confident in my abilities and don’t want it ruin anything along the way.
I’m not looking for anyone to tell me exactly what parts to get, more of just a decent over view on the pros and cons and what would be a good starting point on what to reference.
Thank you for any advice!
Edit: wow, I did not expect this to get as many comments as it did!
I’m gonna go through and read them all because I really appreciate the feedback but it’ll take some time lol
So far though everyone has given me some great advice and a lot to think about, so thank you all very much! I appreciate all your time!
- Best advice I can give for those wanting to get better at pvp
- I think there is a problem with the way people view difficulty in this game. At least in this subreddit
- (Discussion) Not sure how to title properly but feels like this sub is getting worse and worse.
