  • Level 1
    • Legion of Beetles
      • Additional Functionality: Anub’arak receives 5 physical armor for each beetle active.

Developer Comment: We wanted to highlight beetle build even more and given Anub’arak more options when facing physical damage heavy comps.



  • Level 16
    • Embrace Death
      • Additional Functionality: Now gives Embrace Death a second charge.



  • Jet Propulsion
    • Delay before charging reduced from .375 to .275 seconds.

Developer Comment: Blaze was still not performing as well in the main tank role as we’d hoped, hopefully this change will allow him to better control enemy heroes.



  • Level 13
    • Blessed Hammer
      • New Functionality: Hammers now stun enemy heroes for 0.25 seconds.



  • Storm Bolt
    • Cast Time Reduced from 0.15 to .05 seconds.

Developer Comment: KABOOM laddie!



  • Slam
    • Adjusted functionality: All enemies hit are slowed by 30%. Enemies hit by the inner impact are slowed by 50%.

Developer Comment: We wanted Stitches to be able to control his playmates a little more to give him some power outside of hook.




  • Level 10
    • Purifier Beam
      • Movement Speed increased from 3.2 to 3.4.

Developer Comment: We’re buffing Purifier Beam’s speed once more to ensure it purifies even the slipperiest of targets.



  • Level 10
    • Wrath of Angiris
      • Delay before charge reduced from 0.75 to 0.5 seconds.

Developer Comment: Wrath of Angiris has not been performing as well in higher ranks, hopefully this change should allow for more successful Wraths.



  • Level 16
    • Mortality
      • Additional Functionality: Malthael heals for 50% of the bonus damage dealt.
    • Memento Mori
      • Additional Functionality: Malthael gains shields for 3 seconds equal to 50% of the bonus damage dealt by Memento Mori.

Developer Comment: Soul Collector at 16 increases Malthael’s survivability and damage, while Mortality and Memento Mori did not. We would like Malthael’s other level 16 talents to make him feel sturdier in the late game as well.




  • Level 1
    • Portal Mastery
      • Made Baseline.
    • Dust of Disappearance
      • Moved from Level 20.
      • Stores 1 charge down from 2.
      • Cooldown increased to 25 seconds from 10.
  • Level 20
    • Dust of Disappearance
      • Removed

Developer Comment: Portal Mastery is dominating Medivh’s level 1 talent pick rates , we figured it was integral to his kit and decided it should be baseline.



  • Energy (Trait)
    • Rate of decay reduced from 3 to 2.75 per second.

Developer Comment: The strongest woman needed some more gains.




  • Biotic Grenade
    • Healing reduction duration on enemy heroes reduced from 1.75 to 1 seconds.
    • Cast time reduced from 0.125 seconds to 0.075 seconds.
    • Cooldown reduced from 16 to 12 seconds.

Developer Comment: Biotic Grenade has been a contentious ability since its inception. Rather than nerf the amount of healing reduction, we’d instead like Ana players to have to be more surgical with their biotic grenades.



  • Level 16
    • Lightwell
      • Cooldown reduced from 80 to 65 seconds

Developer Comment: Please click the Lightw….oh wait wrong game. Just stand in it more often please.



  • Dragonqueen
    • Cast time reduced from 1.25 to 1 second.
    • Bonus health increased from 500 to 750.


  • Level 7
    • Lifeblossom
      • Lifeblossoms no longer time out.



  • Swift Sweep
    • Cast speed increased by 35%.


  • Level 1
    • Swift Sweep
      • Removed



  • Level 20
    • Serenity
      • Additional Functionality: Now reduces Tranquility’s mana cost to 40 from 80.



  • Level 1
    • Inquisitor’s Prayer
      • Each hero hit now grants 4 permanent health, up from 3, and 4 permanent mana, up from 2.

Melee Assassin:



  • Discord Strike
    • Damage reduced from 165 to 160
  • Lightning Surge
    • Damage reduced from 62 to 59


  • Level 7
    • Applied Force
      • Made Baseline
      • Adjusted Functionality: No longer reduces Sadism by 10%.
    • (New) I’ll do it Myself
      • Cooldown 100 seconds
      • Vector Targeting Create a force, pushing all friendly heroes from the targeted point towards the targeted direction. Allied heroes are unstoppable during movement. Takedowns refund the cooldown of I’ll do it Myself. Does not affect Alarak.

Developer Comment: We didn’t like how Alarak players would have to deal with two different Telekinesis ranges. We’re making Applied Force baseline and reducing Alarak’s damage to compensate. We wanted to give the highlord some tools to help his pitiful teammates, and we’d like to start exploring giving cleanses to more of the roster outside of healers.



  • Level 1
    • Assimilation Mastery
      • Additional Functionality: Damaging enemy heroes sets the duration of an active Regenerable Globe on Kerrigan to 8 seconds (unless it is already higher).

Ranged Assassin:



  • Level 13
    • Flow Like Water
      • Each enemy hero hit with swift strike reduces its cooldown by 4.25 seconds up from 3.

Developer Comment: We try to be careful with Genji buffs so we decided to buff a lesser used talent to spice up Genji’s builds and play styles.



  • Frost Bolt
    • Damage increased from 184 to 200
  • Cone of Cold
    • Damage increased from 220 to 230


  • Level 1
    • Winter’s Reach
      • Increase the range of Frostbolt by 50% up from 30%
  • Level 7
    • Ice Floes
      • Increase the width of Cone of Cold by 200% up from 100%.
  • Level 20
    • Ice Blink
      • Cooldown reduced to 20 seconds from 60 seconds.

Developer Comment: Jaina has been feeling rough to play as of late. Her fellow mages all have rather large ranges on their abilities which keep them safe, instead of increasing all of Jaina’s ability ranges, we chose to make her feel more lethal to all those who dare come close enough.



  • Level 7
    • Death Dealer
      • Adjusted Functionality: If the victim dies within 1.5 seconds of the attack, Vault’s cooldown and mana cost are refunded



  • Level 7
    • Ravenous Hunger
      • Adjusted Functionality: Heroes that die within 2.5 seconds of being hit by Chomp permanently increase its damage by 40 and heal Orphea for 20% of her maximum health, down from 25%.
