League of Legends

Random tip for (almost) every champion in league of legends

Hopefully not all of these are obvious and everyone can learn at least one thing

Will add more for each champion from comments if I think it is good/not obvious

I am not an expert at every champion, some of these tips might be dated (not work anymore at all) and some of these tips might just be straight wrong, will edit accordingly

  • Aatrox– W is a 26s cd. To avoid wasting it, make sure Q1 hits before you press W so they cant dodge, then Q2+E to stop them getting out.
  • – when chasing, only use Q1 and let cd finish to get Q1 back straight away instead of wasting Q2 and Q3 when they wont hit
  • Ahri– hitting Q at max range will guarantee it hits both ways. The closer you are to enemy the more likely they dodge the return
  • – on rare occasions, using R on the spot is advantageous, you won't dash so the damage goes off faster
  • Akali– Don't use shroud until you have used all mobility. I see a lot of noob akalis waste shroud after R1 or E1 and get stranded.
  • – You can E1 and then flash towards someone to get an extra passive proc before using E2, useful in extremely close all ins
  • Alistar– Always try and use Q before flash not the other way around. Don't try and combo someone from pointblank or you will headbutt them away.
  • -W is a stun if you hit someone into a wall, so W, wait a second, and then Q
  • – learn how to tower dive, if you aren't towerdiving with alistar you are completely wasting his kit
  • Amumu– When possible, flash ult before using Q because you cant mess this up and it stops Q getting blocked or Qss'd and then flashed away from
  • Anivia– For lane, try taking attack speed adaptive rune and putting 2 or 3 points in Q to help with waveclear pre 6. Also 2 points in W is usually a threshold you want to hit that blocks chokes before maxing your E
  • Annie– You can charge 4th stack of passive while Q is in midair. Just press E while on 3 stacks and Q is travelling and it will stun. ( not that useful because it will take an extra ability to get back to 4 in a long fight
  • Aphelios– Red and white= win every 1 on 1 in the game. Use red Q to stack Chakrams, and then you do a billion damage with white gun out.
  • Ashe– In lane, try and use R straight after hitting a W slow and youre more likely to get a flash.
  • -Also for more crossmap Rs, try down a lane rather than along river. It will be more likely to hit when enemies are running in a straight line during an all towards/away from the arrow
  • Aurelion Sol– To maximize your damage in lane, move clockwise around your opponent and you will get an extra couple W hits off. Also can flash clockwise around your opponent to hit one extra W in a close fight
  • Azir – So you can E to a soldier and then Q to travel further distance. But when escaping try and do this in a banana shape starting with soldier at a diagonal position. It will spend more time travelling (same distance total) and it will reduce chance of someone flashing in the way to block
  • Bard(Favourite champ)- Always put W next to walls. Enemies will be scared to step on them in case of Q into wall, your adc won't step on them by accident AND you can use the position of W to E into the wall, or even pick up the heal while inside the wall E'ing past it
  • – Into really hard poke matchups, (Cait, zyra, varus, brand, vel etc) take W level 1 and put down 3 W's that cost 70 mana. You can pick up 3 chimes and completely refill your mana and get a good level 1 in lane even if your adc takes free poke
  • – Bard R range is misleading. You won't hit max range R. If they enemy will fit on your screen it will likely hit. If they cant fit on your screen they are too far away and can dodge in the travel time
  • – R is the best ability in the game. Don't be afraid of flame when you use it on towers, barons, dragons, junglers, zoning ults. You will mess up sometimes but you will learn
  • Blitzcrank– Blitz best champ in the game to demonstrate lollipopping. At max range blitz hook will "search" for an enemy so try this to go around minions
  • – This is in the tooltip but blitz R instantly pops shields. So pick him into lulu janna please
  • Brand– Hocus pocus= Q>flash>E for stun that is almost impossible to dodge. Only works if you are far enough away or the Q will hit before E
  • Braum– Always Q before R. Q slow makes it easier to hit R, without it R is really easy to dodge especially at long range.
  • Caitlyn– Put traps behind towers, even destroyed ones, they are hard to see. Also tell your support to pick a stun/root that last AT LEAST 1.5SECONDS. Short stuns like pantheon W are hard to arm trap in time
  • Camille– Try and use E as CC is about to hit you and the E will still pull you to the wall. Do it too early or late and E will be cancelled though
  • – Use E stun to stop champs wiht untargetable abilities (like Vlad/Fizz) from dodging your R
  • Cassiopeia– Cass E is empowered by singed and teemo poison. Makes it a stronger pick when you see these on your team. Also try and only use ult when running away and you will it way more often
  • Cho'Gath– Using R early in a fight can scare an opponent out of coming back in if you know you wont be able to kill them anyway. Also use E slow to make Q much easier to hit when possible
  • Corki– Package bounces people off of it immediately. To avoid this, always try and package enemies into walls and they will bounce back onto the package
  • Darius– E slows 40% for 2 seconds, W slows 90% for 1 second. Do not W immediately after hitting E if you need to get every second of slow. Also use the W slow to make sure Q hits
  • Diana– Stack passive on wave before fighting so you get 3rd auto as soon as you go in. Also if you hit an enemy in a wave with Q, use E on the minion to gap close so you STILL have two more E's to follow dash or flash
  • Dr. Mundo
  • Draven– Press R2 just before it hits a champ and you can get the instant double damage. Also Draven R does more damage on the way back usually because of the drop off so try and steal objectives with the return of R
  • – Learn how to triple axe in lane. Easy to describe hard to execute. Use Q a third time while an axe is in the air and then never catch 3 at the same time
  • Ekko– Side brush in midlane is your best friend. Use W on the wave from side brush a few times and then the enemy mid will be afraid to push everytime you roam through that side.
    • – Also you can E over the fat wall in midlane side brush if you stand in the right place
  • Elise– Use your E to escape in creative ways. Use sweeper to get a ward to jump to, go over to wraithes when diving mid, and use plants to get over walls aroud river
  • Evelynn– Same as twitch, you should be avoiding river and enemy jungle and try and get picks in lanes. This is the only way you can guarantee not facechecking pinks in brushes. Also Banshees is a must buy vs twisted fate itll consume the spellshield and let you stay hidden for a flank *- Use R backwards to gapclose on <10% hp targets
  • Ezreal– W refunds 60 mana PLUS the cost of the ablility that pops it. So in lane try and always pop W with E or R so you get 160 mana back which means four extra Q's of mana in an all in -Ezreal R cc's yourself so try and use it when you know you are about to get hit by a CC anyway
  • Fiddlesticks– Watch videos on how to do multiple camps at once on first clear
    • -Also take advantage of the fact you can go invisible on the minimap if you stand still for a long time. Can easily catch people out with this
  • Fiora– Remember you can pop passive with W and items. Items especially important with
  • Fizz– Fizz R reveals stealth. Try and use on champs that rely on stealth to insta kill them (like akali shaco especially)
    • -ALMOST ALWAYS try and disguise your R animation by using Q before R. If you R through a minion as you R it makes it 10x harder to dodge
  • Galio– Use E backwards to knockup enemies faster once they are taunted. You can use full channel taunt to ensure your R channel completes to escape ganks, alternatively do full channel taunt and then E away diagonally to make sure it isn't blocked
  • Gangplank– If you want to put a 2nd barrel down after firing your gun, try using Q from max range and then placing the next barrel next to the previous barrel rather than in front of it (just makes it more consistent)
  • Garen– Use all the brush on the map. Garen in brush is the deadliest garen (try and sneak behind ranged champs toplane, camp out junglers etc)
  • Gnar– Cancel R animation if you use E to bounce into transform. Also a lot of the time it is actually better to R back towards your team instead of towards a wall if you are getting pick. Don't be afraid to use Gnar R like a "hook" into W stun
  • Gragas– Try and use Q slow to make R much harder to dodge (bit like ashe with W). If you are full AP please don't waste W. Can be like 40% damage reduction for 2.5seconds so save it for when you get in a pinch not just for heal randomly.
  • Graves– Some pros call graves W the best non ultimate ability in the game, don't waste it for poke
    • Riot removed the ability to animation cancel R easily, but if you are out of ammo you can still use an ability during E to completely skip the animation which can add extra damage
  • Hecarim – Try and aim R behind enemies as they will often run away from the charge rather than towards 95% of the time.
  • – Elixir of Iron is really strong on heca as I believe it increases the range of Q, E and W. Big Heca is strong Heca
  • Heimerdinger – Try and ALWAYS use E at melee range. Heimer grenade is one of the hardest ablities to hit max range but it's almost point and click in melee range because it's instant
  • Illaoi – R>flash catches most people out when you're running away and turn, and is essential for Illaoi to be useful in teamfights so play around flash timing.
    • Also Tenacity is her most important stat imo because you wont heal if you are CC'd once you get into the middle of a team
  • Irelia – Try and always use R to setup E stun. *- Always cheese level 1 by getting 3 or 4 minions low and chaining Q when there are ~2minions left on both sides. Irelia with 3 or 4 stacks beats 95% of champs in the game level 1.
  • Ivern – You can't use bushes to hide baron/dragon but you can use bushes to cover the entrance which has a similar effect. *- This champ you should really study clears because he is one of the most creative junglers in the game when it comes to level 1 and invading because he can dash over walls with Q and insta steal buffs
  • Janna – When running away, charge the tornado in the exact same direction you are running and it'll get a longer knockup on any melees who directly follow you *- When charging tornados in lane, use W as soon as they go into the path of it and release the tornado for best chance of hitting *- When you are ahead and flexing you can fully charge a tornado and then use flash>R to guarantee the enemy is pushed into its path
  • Jarvan IV – If someone is tower diving, just R them then E>Q out and watch them squirm under tower *- E>Q>Flash can extend the range of your knockup or use it to knockup more champs , BUT IT WONT DO DAMAGE, so be careful using this unless you start with a big health advantage *- When taking towers/baron/dragon, put your E behind you always so you can escape if something goes wrong. Don't E>Q baron please you cant knock it up anyway and E damage is negligable
  • Jax – Like Diana, charge up 3rd hit on wave before jumping in
  • Jayce – Always try and position the E(ranged) on top of yourself. Q is harder to dodge when it comes out at max speed AND you can also use the speed boost more reliably than if it was close to enemy champion *- E(melee) will send champs back to where they were when you first cast the ability. Try and time it with enemy dashes to completely negate the dash even if the dash goes through (Eg if a Lucian dashes towards you when you E it will send him back further than where he started)
  • Jhin – This is from doublelift. TAKE YOUR TIME WITH YOUR R. Don't spam the button or you will fire when you are not ready. Wait an extra 0.5s between shots
    • You cant auto attack when reloading. Take advantage of this by trying to use abilities after firing 4th auto, especially R
  • Jinx – You can keep Q attack speed stacks when in rocket mode so try and swap every couple of autos to keep it up while doing an all in.
    • Use zap slow to guarantee R hits. Also R does 1100+ damage to baron/dragon late game so you can easy steal
  • Kai'Sa – W is the longest animation in her kit so try and cancel it with R. *- Use E before pressing R in lane so you aren't locked out of autos. Late game save E for after R to reposition.
  • Kalista – Use your R, seriously too many people forget it's a thing
  • – Use your W, seriously too many people forget it's a thing *- Try and stack 5+ autos in a cannon and then execute with Q into an enemy for insta burst 50% hp
  • Karma – ult Q explodes at max range, use this to hit enemies hiding behind minions or out of range of a normal Q
  • Karthus – always use W first when you go into passive. A lot of people forget that it shred armour
  • Kassadin– Use R>flash to guarantee it will hit. Once you have 3000+ mana make sure you stack R before a fight
  • Katarina– Easiest lane combo is E>W>Q. You will have one dagger underneath and one dagger behind enemy where they are running to
  • Kayle– Learn when to build AP vs AD. Triforce or Botrk
  • Kayn – Your R lasts longer than grievous wounds. Dont use R2 straight away most of the time because of this
  • Kennen
  • Kha'Zix – Best place for khazix to fight is around the banana brush and pixel brush in river. It's really easy to drop aggro when you R into a brush rather than R into open terrain
  • Kindred – Kindred ult keeps baron/dragon alive. Can use this to bait enemy into wasting smite on it. Also using W after using Q still sets your Q cd to 2s as well as if you did W first
  • Kled – Use Q during E dash to hide the animation and it's much easier to hit this way, even better at pointblank.
  • Kog'Maw – Use Kog E slow before using Q or R to make it much easier to hit.
  • LeBlanc – Use Alt to control clone. Best way to do this is to stand still and then move clone like a champion to drop aggro.
  • Lee Sin – Watch videos on "long ward jump" Allows you to make double distance wardjump with flash which is much harder to avoid that ward jump and THEN flash
  • – R> flash is much more reliable and harder to avoid that flash>R once you are on top of them
  • Leona – Use R during E to animation cancel and keeps them rooted during the R.
  • – Auto > Q > Auto kills wards OP in lane side brushes
  • Lillia– Use towers and dead towers to explode your seed and make it more likely to hit enemies
  • – Best way to use lillia late game is flash Q as many people and then zhonyas while R goes off. Sleep prep takes same time as zhonyas
  • Lissandra – Use hexflash. Seriously. Channel hexflash while E is travelling and you will be able to hexflash as soon as your E arrives.
  • Lucian – W gives movespeed off abilities and autos. So always W before using R. Makes it really easy to hit R and R will refresh movespeed boost permanently
  • Lulu – Lulu E does same damage as it shields. Shields are not affected by resistances but damage is. So you will create a bigger health difference by shielding yourself and autoing rather than using E offensively, especially since they changed point and click spells to draw minion aggro
  • Lux – LEAVE LUX E UP. I see too many people insta pop lux E but it's an extremely strong slow and can strand some melee champs
  • Malphite– Elixir of Iron is OP like on hecarim. Big malphite = bigger E *- When someone is under your tower against you with only casters left, R+E them and the casters and they will tank 2+ tower shots and you will win 99% of the time. *-If you want to maximise CC you should wait 1second before using E after hitting R. You dont want the 50% AS slow from malph to overlap with the knockup
  • Malzahar– Malz will do most damage if he uses all 3 abilities before using R to get the cds back. HOWEVER, you should just use R before using anything else if you ever find yourself in a numbers advantage as the cast times give enemies chance to escape. JUST R IF YOU ARE 3v1, 4v2, 5v3
  • Maokai– Use sapling directly on top of enemy after hitting the W root.
  • – Use the really wide walls around midlane/redbuff/objective pits to disguise your R. Also try and aim R diagonally and not directly towards enemy because its easier to dodge
  • Master Yi
  • Miss Fortune – E before ult always unless someone else sets you up.
  • Mordekaiser – Try not to ult people near walls. If you ult someone in river/jungle they are 10x more likely to flash/dash over a wall and leave you stranded for 8 seconds. Try and ult in the middle of lanes or against sides of entire map.
  • Morgana – Ult before Q to make sure Q hits in lane all ins
  • – Ult will light up if someone is in range, even if in stealth or fog of war, so you should never facecheck
  • – In teamfights try and aim Q at people on the side who think they completely untargeted
  • Nami – Ult before Q to make sure Q hits in lane all ins
  • – Like maokai, use the Fat walls around mid/redbuff/pits to hide your R. Max range R is a FOUR SECONDS SLOW. Max range nami R= kill
  • – Use Q on allies to speed them up in a chase
  • – Use R on allies to speed them up in a chase (R gets double speed of passive)
  • Nasus – Max E in bad lanes like teemo/quinn/vaybe if you want to be useful and win. Gold is worth more than stacks in these games
  • Nautilus– Use Q to a wall after you know a CC is going to hit (eg. Morg/Blitz Q) and it will pull you away regardless (bit like camille)
  • – Start combos with R in lane. In teamfights dont start combo with R ever or a player can dash behind team and you will have just completely wasted an ult for almost nothing
  • Neeko – Use R straight after W and you can channel half of R while stealthed *- Often you can juke people by W'ing towards your team/tower and then running towards/straight past enemies
  • Nidalee
  • Nocturne– Spellshield objectives to get attack speed and do them faster
  • – Use R to pop spellshields in a pinch
  • – Use R to stop TPs/globals even if you don't plan on using R2. Especially good against Shen/TF
  • – Use Q just before R hits and R will benefit from the extra AD you get while on the shroud.
  • Nunu and Willump – Best ravenous hunter in the game. Eating a minion in a fight will do 1000 true damage and heal for 300-400.
  • – Nunu snowball calculates speed from when you first start W, so try starting with homeguards or on a scuttle shrine
  • Olaf – Because W gives bonus healing, make sure you use healing effects like goredrinker during W
  • – If you have lots of cdr, you can leave a Q on the floor until its about to timeout and chain double Q's by picking them up one after the other.
  • Orianna – I know it's tempting to shield an ally for ult setup but almost always its better to position your ult with Q because of how allies cant be "inside" enemies (apart from some exceptions) and because allies can be knocked away
  • – Learn how to hide the ball. Hide it in brush. Hide it in walls. Hide it in dead turrets
  • Ornn – To maximize damage you should try and pop the brittle between R1 and R2 where possible. Can be done with an auto I believe but it's hard
  • – Combo is Q>W>E usually. By the time the W finishes the Q pillar will have popped. Also pretending to walk away from a Q can bait people into walking near it
  • – Ornn E destroys terrain, so you can sometimes save allies trapped by J4 wall/Anivia wall if you think quickly
  • Pantheon– W with passive is the best imo because you can reset passive the fastest. Also can cancel W triple auto animation with Q.
  • Poppy – Use tapped R immediately after Q to guarantee they get hit by both parts. Usually want to E>Q, then Q>R so you get 4Q hits
  • – Be creative with R. Hit away jungler at objectives. Hit away backline after enemy tanks engage and just get free damage on their frontline
  • – If you're behind them you can use R held for ~1s to send them back towards fountain 1screenlength which puts them closer to you.
  • Pyke – NEVER WASTE E WHILE ROAMING AROUND. Usually you're going to want to E away after getting in any trouble or using R so don't use E to gapclose for R 95% of the time.
  • – Best trading pattern is hitting a mid range Q and then E'ing away. You can hit them with the stun when they land where you start and then you don't get hit back by adc
  • Qiyana – Walk around with Blue Q ready. Green Q is your best friend for stalling for time.
  • – Use Blue Q root to guarantee people cant flash/dash your R
  • – E>Q follows dashes/flashes, makes Q essentially point and click
  • Quinn– Bait melees close to thin walls (around river especially) so you can use E to jump over them
  • – Try and time E to follow flashes or cancel dashes
  • Rakan – If you want to maximise CC, dont overlap R and W, try and R>Flash on top of them and wait 0.5s before using W
  • – When starting fights, you want to stand behind team in fog of war and use R>E to ally>(flash)>W to get an engage from maximum range that they dont expect. Stay out of vision range and dont use R in vision range when possible
  • Rammus – E gives AS buff that is continuously refreshed by W Q and R. So try and chain abilities so it doesnt time out
  • Rek'Sai – Use the fat walls to get suprise reksai tunnels that they cant see until late. Midlane on blueside of tower, and tribush by blue buff best walls to go through
  • Rell – Using R while in midair with W can knockup mobile champs for 0.5s and stop them dashing out of the W
  • – If you are against adcs with easy mobility (ezreal lucian vayne) please dont even
  • Renekton– Try to never use both E1 and E2 to gapclose. If you arent in range to reach with E1 dont even try or you will be stranded
  • – W (especially empowered) has a long animation. You can slightly cancel it with items or Q
  • Rengar – Sweeper can sometimes give you wards to jump to.
  • – Use blast cone level 1 to give 2 stacks before doing a buff
  • – You can jump from red buff brush into baron/dragon pit
  • Riven
  • Rumble – Try and use R diagonally in lanes. Vertical and horizontal are too easy to get off immediately
  • – Best places to ult are obvious in jungle and especially at banana brush
  • Ryze– Try and use R creatively. Use it to scare teams away from objectives by dropping it and not getting in. Use it to move minions from one lane to another after taking inhib
  • – If you have premades, try pushing a wave all the way to inner/inhib, then use R from wraithes to baron pit to get an aoe teleport and 15 second headstart on a baron rush
  • – R makes you invulnerable for 0.5s when you teleport. You can use it to dodge stuff like karthus ult if you ult 0.5s after he presses R
  • Samira
  • Sejuani – Q>R is a good way to hide ult animation and get picks when grouped (like fizz)
  • – You cant apply E stacks after R hits so if you need maximum damage please dont R before E in skirmishhes early game
  • Senna – Try and always use W while inside your E camouflage it makes it way harder to dodge when theres no visible cast
  • – Use R when you know you are about to be CC'd because R cc's yourself (like ezreal)
  • Seraphine – You can use exhaust to turn E into a guaranteed root>stun and make it easier to hit
  • Sett – People try and ult carries back into your team. This is usually not the best use of ult because you end up nowhere near enemy backline. Try and ult any champ into backline as a way to gapclose *- I'd recommend turning smartcast indicators on for E as it makes it easier to line up stuns and visualise range on both sides
  • Shaco – Use R while stealthed for more chance of them focusing it down
  • – Send your clone far behind you and then stealth forwards out of the tether range to have clone pop up in front of them. Shen*- Set up Q before the game starts by putting it behind enemies top/bot for a trade level 1 that you will always win
  • – Use Q and wait until it is 2/3rds timed out. Then taunt in and you can use 6 Q autos in a row
  • – You want to W the instant you arrive with R 95% of the time. It'll drop the W directly on top of ally and you can then take an extra halfsecond to line up E
  • Shyvana
  • Singed– Best place to fight is just in front of your tower where any melee opponent will have to give CS to avoid getting flipped under tower
  • Sion– ALWAYS USE R2 EVEN IF YOU PLAN ON KNOCKING SOMEONE UP. The R has a 1.75s stun (max speed) and a 3s slow at any speed. If you press dont press R early you wont get the extra 1.25slow if you hit knockup
  • – If you know you are going to die use E just before you die on closest enemy to make sure you can stick to them with passive
  • Sivir – Q damage drop off is extremely high through minions and Q mana cost is also really high so please don't waste through a minion wave for 50 damage harass.
  • Skarner – As your ult is about to finish start walking back towards enemy and it will wiggle your butt and bring the ulted target to the other side of you
  • Sona – I rarely ever see people use W empowered auto. Late game a W powerchord can reduce damage by 40%(!!!) for 3 seconds. Is essentially an exhaust on assassins
  • Soraka– Q is really easy to hit melee range, almost impossible to hit max range. Basically dont attempt any Q over mid range unless you have setup or extreme confidence.
  • – Use Q slow to make sure E hits if possible
  • Swain– E is easiest to hit at max range. Also has a massive explosion radius compared to hit box so try and hit minions near an enemy champion to catch them out
  • – Practise lining up W in front of enemy as E is about to hit so they are pulled into the middle of it
  • Sylas – Don't use E max range unless you have to in lane. Make it easier by E1>W>E2 so melee range E2 and Q2 are easier to hit
  • – Everyone knows how good Malphite Amumu Hec teamfight style ults are, But Sylas is actually arguably stronger in games with Alistar/Cho where you can get extremely tanky and use your other abilites to carry fights.
  • Syndra– To make stun harder to dodge, through a W and Q side by side at the same time before E. Can also E after R for even more guaranteed but then R does less damage
  • – W resets the duration of Q balls being on the floor. So when you Q>Q>W make sure you pick up the first ball to have an extra ball down for R
  • Tahm Kench– Since they changed E mechanic where you get grey health even on CD. It's almost always better to E when your grey health takes up 25-50% of health rather than a massive 90% health shield (they will never break 90% of your health shield and you may get a 2nd E)
  • – W on enemies is usually worse than stunning with Q because your teammates cant DPS a low target for 1s
  • Taliyah – You can E after W to to save mana on E if you see your W isnt going to hit.
  • – If mana isnt an issue use the E slow to set up W when you dont have any.
  • – Try and ult diagonally down lanes to create a corner they run into for easy W
  • Talon– When roaming make sure you don't E too many walls and give yourself no way to escape. I see a lot of talon spam E everywhere and then get caught/have to waste R to escape
  • – Spamming E back to lane is always fine
  • Taric– In teamfights you should put W on frontline and then stand next to adc to get R on everyone. Dont ever bother diving, just spam Autos on nearest immobile champ to refresh abilities. *- Use E on stealth allies to suprise enemies with invisible stun
  • Teemo – Never played
  • Thresh – Try hooking between melee and casters in lane. There is a gap that catches people out loads
  • – Flaying backwards is INSTANT, whereas flaying fowards has a 1s delay. Therefore its usually easier to flay a dashing enemy with backwards flay always.
  • – Ult has a long cast time, so try and use it during the Q pull
  • – Flay only after second pull from Q so you dont waste knockup
  • Tristana– On sololane tristana try levelling R only once til late game because it knocks enemies back to edge of range. R level 2 is 1000 range knockback and you wont be able to auto anymore
  • Tryndamere– Cancel auto animation with E.
  • – I think you can see when enemies are near -even in fog- because your W will light up and be usuable. You should never facecheck
  • Twisted Fate– R is blocked by spellshields. Be careful you dont get baited into a 1v2 by someone with banshees/edge of night
  • – Try dorans blade into melee assassin matchups. You can sometimes get enough of an HP lead level 1/2 that they cant all in after that
  • Twitch– Like evelynn, avoid making plays in jungle/river so you can be absolutely sure you havent passed over a pink in a brush
  • – Once you have 3(?) poinst in Q you are stealthed for long enough you can Q>B to get a recall in stealth
  • Udyr – Udyr bear stance(E) auto is unstoppable. So if you flash bear slap someone they will still get stunned if they flash away or go out of vision.
  • Urgot – Turn W on and off after every 3 W attacks to weave in extra autos to get absolute max damage. This matters less late game when you are trying to pop passive as much as possible
  • – You are unstoppable during E, so use it as CC is about to hit
  • – Urgot flip is like jayce E, it will send champs back to where they got hit from, so try and hit JUST as they dash for the biggest flips possible
  • Varus– R applies 3 passive stacks over 2seocnds. Because of this you need to use abilites on enemies MORE often than every 3 autos in order to not waste passive stacks.
  • – If you find yourself in a 50 minute game, consider swapping your Lethality build out for Attack speed, or your Attack speed build out for AP if it will do more damage. (AP a 100%HP one shot combo, AS better for immobile champs you can freely AA)
  • Vayne– Tumble into walls when next to walls for an instant auto attack reset.
  • – Vayne R stealth lasts 1s. Try waiting 0.5s after Q before autoing to spend the most time in stealth when you are in a pinch
  • Veigar– Try and make sure the enemies end up on the inside of E if it does miss. This way you can usually still hit an ability anyway *- Veigar is one of the only mages that gets more damage from a rabadons than void staff even against stacked magic resist. If you play a lot of veigar you should work out the numbers. (eg vs 200MR raba might give more damage still than 40% magic pen)
  • Vel'Koz – Q2 is much faster than Q1, so practise targetting enemies mainly with Q2
  • – To maximise Q range, fire it 45 degrees to left or right of target. It will go ~40% further, cheers pythagoras
  • – You can use Q and W in a straight line at opponent to disguise both spells being cast
  • Vi – I believe you can flash during R to get a knockup on extra targets while you are tethered to an opponent
  • – In skirmishes you should try and pop W armour shred before R to get maximum damage from your kit
  • Viktor – When melees are on top of you/you are getting ganked, W on top of yourself and fight on top of it
  • Vladimir– E channel can be done during W so try and combine them so you arent locked out of doing anything for the shortest amount of time
  • – You can actually R baron for 10% damage boost to it which can situationally be the best thing to do. Eg you are behind and trying a smash and grab baron
  • Volibear– Try and use Q to stun enemies in your E
  • – I believe towers ramped up damgae is reset when you disable them. Because of this try and R the tower AFTER youve tanked 2 or 3 tower shots to tank the least damage possible
  • Warwick– Held Q cant be disabled and follows champs for a decent amount of time. Try following midrange TF/nocturne/shen ults with it for best results
  • – E will instantly pop if you hit R on someone. However this is a bad idea the majority of the time. You will be in the middle of the enemy team with no damage reduction now. edit: this is wrong and Warwick keeps the damage reduction even if R pops the fear so using it like this is fine
  • Wukong – Old Wukong used W to get into a fight. New Wukong should save W for after R1 to make sure you can drop aggro and get a double sized aoe on the R2
  • – Use S to juke people out. Works especially well near brush where you can then W into the brush 1s later
  • Xayah – Q>AA>E for instant root.
  • – You can flash during ult for feather reposition
  • – Flash on top of an enemy during E pullback to guarantee feathers in every single direction hit
  • Xerath– like jhin, TAKE YOUR TIME WITH R. Dont spam the R key but instead wait at least 0.5s between shots (unless they are right on edge of range)
  • – Use W slow to set up E, not the other way around
  • – Your Q outranges vision, so try using wards in the middle of the lane, or using your minions vision to hit Q's when they cant see you charging it
  • Xin Zhao– Q reduces other ablities cooldowns so for maximum damage try using W+E before Q.
  • – In teamfights its better to hit Q3 THEN W to guarantee the W hits and slows after knockup finishes
  • – You can use R like an insec knockback but remember the last target you E or AA wont be knocked back
  • – Ult does 15% current health+ base+ bonus AD damage so late game you can do thousands of damage with R if you hit an entire full health team
  • Yasuo – If you E>Q(keyblade) a minion/champ then R a knocked up target, you will finish R with one stack of Q already charged.
  • – Yasuo R is actually really smart and puts you outside of tower range if an enemy is near the edge of their towers range
  • Yone – Try and charge Q3 before going in with R or E
  • – E return is unstoppable so you can bait out some extremely powerful ults with a quick E1 E2 in front of champs like mordekaiser/malzahar
  • Yorick – Use E slow to set up the W *- You can catch people out in lane by having 4x Q graves ready, hitting E and THEN summoning with Q2 and the mistwalkers will instantly jump to enemy on spawn
  • Yuumi – When enemies are JUST to the side of your R, you can jump out to get a minidash and sometimes put you in range
  • – Playing yuumi is basically a minigame of "what CC does the enemy team have left". If the answer is a lot, dont risk getting out and dont even risk changing allies.
  • – Sitting on Tanks/Bruisers is better than sitting on adc's 90% of the time. 400HP heal on a tank takes 4x longer to chip away at than 400HP on a 0 resist carry
  • Zac– You can E over dragon/baron pit for a steal without landing inside the pit. (Cutting the curve off)
  • Zed – You can't R2 for 1 second after pressing R. So to stay slippery drop your W nearby before you R and instantly jump to W to juke abilities.
  • Ziggs– Ziggs W doesnt care about backdoor bonus for towers and you can outrange them, so dont be scared to backdoor towers with 25% health or less
  • – Like bard R, ziggs R is almost impossible to hit at max range and easy to hit point blank because of travel time. If they can fit on your screen they are close enough to R reliably
  • Zilean – You can chain stun stun someone if you Q>W>wait til Q almost finished>Q>W>Q with enough CDR.
  • Zoe – Your own flash does damage if you have at least 1 point in W. So in extremely close fights dont be afraid to use flash to win by 50-100 damage
  • – E through towers/dead towers to catch people out with long range
  • – Try and auto between Q1 and Q2 to maximise damage
  • Zyra– You can W after using Q or E to spawn seeds on top of enemies they cant squash and catch them out
  • – Only spawn in brush that enemies have vision of. If they spawn in a brush, use your sweeper and you will usually get a ward kill

Extras

  • Riven– Riven – your Q cooldown starts as soon as you use it. That's why people Q1 Q2 in lane and hold onto their Q3 as long as possible. By the time Q3 ends, Q1 should be back up shortly u/stuntinoutfront
