I´m kinda in the same boat with people who are sad that harvest is not going core. Hear me out before roasting me.

As hyped as I am for the next league, 1 thought is always in my mind.

Few basics first, maybe someone feels the same as me.

I know for sure that I am not a crafter (at least a profit crafter), and my approach each league is, just farm as much currency as I can for upgrades. Before harvest, the constant fear of losing all currency because of 1 project is present at all times, because I dont have a backup mirror once my exalteds are drained. Especially if you try to craft an item with hard to get mods. And in harvest, it was the first time I really studied crafting (yes it´s not that complicated but for beginners it surely can be overwhelming and confusing), and I was stunned about the results. Actual good items did I produce.

If we take for example a normal Essence Drain league starter. For sure you can Alteration spam a Bow or Staff for plus 1 socketed gems and damage over time, into Beast imprint and regal. Multimod and done.

But lets take a look at the Amulet. Without harvest crafting the cost of crafting an Amulet with plus 1 int gems, plus 1 chaos gems, chaos over time multiplier, Malevolence 25% reduced mana reservation and what not, is probably around 500-1000 exalted to finish it off with regular crafting. I dont know if its reasonable or not.

Path of Exile has a reward system which takes advantage of dopamine production in your brain. In an ARPG you want to improve and find better items, craft better items. And if you manage to hit the desired Pre/Suffix the dopamine kicks in. With harvest league, GGG introduced a way for the NOT 5% top tier players (which take holiday for league launch, or dont work at all and play 20 h/day, which have indepth knowledge about market and what not and are able to get 2 mirrors in the first week), and I was so happy about it. I crafted CI CoC gear for my char which is worth around 400 exalted. That is exactly what I dreamed off. Sure it takes time and currency to craft with harvest, but it wasnt just randomly orb spamming and hope that you dont start a zero again.

Take note that its quite important. And I tell you why: I dont think that most of the POE player base is unemployed. I believe that the majority of people are working and have real life responsibilities. And the key word to be successful in POE is TIME. Some have more, some have less. Its all about circumstances and priorities and thats okay. I dont judge. I count to the people who have less time, and Harvest crafting opened a possibility for me, that its okay to have not that much time playing and still be able to get good results. Some will argue "why should someone who plays 4 h/day as successful as me who plays 18h/day". Yes thats a reasonable argument, but let me tell you, while I play 4h/day I can probably bring up one 6xT1 item in 2 weeks and you can get that almost every day. So you´re still more successful than me.

I too know, that harvest is too powerful in its current state, but I rather see it changed and core than deleted completely.

And the thought in my mind I talked about on top of this post can be summarized like this: I probably start the new League with a voice in my Head "you´ll never manage to get Top Tier items this league, only if you pay 50-150 exalted per gear piece from trade, because you can´t do it on your own anymore", and that is slightly frustrating.

Thanks for reading, and sorry for not having a TL;DR, because if I wrote a TL;DR people would only read "i like harvest and im sad that its not going core" and then I would get roasted without being listened to 🙂

Maybe someone feels the same. Maybe some people are glad that it´s gone in 2 weeks. Your thoughts are all reasonable and thats okay 🙂 Have a good time.
