Content of the article: "Alchemical Grenade Addition"
So, I came up with this idea on Guy Fawks Night oddly enough. I wanted to create a way to emulate the Alchemist NPC class that we’ve all probably fought against during the quests, in addition to adding my own spin on it. But, because I’m lazy, I didn’t want to create a whole new skill line. Instead, I propose adding a new ‘solvent’ to Alchemy alongside water and Oil, this one being gunpowder (Which is lore friendly.) This will include the addition of a new perk that deals with the range of the target areas, increasing the target area radii, so the only thing that can affect the damage or duration of the effects over time are the other perks of the skill line
To use a Grenade, the player must have it equipped in their item slot. They can throw it to a maximum of 28 metres in an arc, after which the grenade will detonate into a 5 metre radius zone at impact for the duration dependent upon the solvent being used. In regards to finding them, you would be able to find them in the water/oil drops around the world, with the reagents being found naturally or from specific enemies.
Let me know what you guys think. If you like it, please feel free to look at my other skill concepts.
Added Solvents 1. Knockout Powder 2. Flash Powder 3. Ember flint 4. Kindlepitch 5. Treated Kindlepitch 6. Concentrated Kindlepitch 7. Black Powder 8. Elemental Essence
Passive Skills Demolition Increase the target area of Grenades by 10/20/30%
Optional: Additional Reagents
So, this is a completely optional extra, but this is a way to apply the physical and elemental damages to the grenades. For this, the base damage of a bomb would be Physical damage; the bracketed elements are what will change the damage of the bomb; in practice, a Ravage health bomb made with Fire salts will deal fire damage, Frost salts will deal frost damage, etc.
Fire salts 1. Ravage Health (Fire) 2. Breach 3. Speed 4. Weapon Critical
Frost salts 1. Ravage Health (Frost) 2. Entrapment 3. Protection 4. Invisibility
Void salts 1. Ravage Health (Shock) 2. Fracture 3. Defile 4. Increase Spell Critical
Glow salts 1. Ravage Health (Magicka) 2. Uncertainty 3. Vitality 4. Detection
Ferrous Pellets 1. Ravage Health (Bleeding) 2. Vulnerability 3. Unstoppable 4. Maim
Amber Sap 1. Ravage Health (Poison) 2. Defile 3. Speed 4. Increase Weapon Critical
Foul Fluid 1. Ravage Health (Disease) 2. Ravage Magicka 3. Ravage Stamina 4. Defile
