So, I’ve been bored recently, grabbing the Collectables in Summerset. One thing I noticed was how awesome the Maomer enemies were from both a gameplay PoV and a Lore PoV. A Fourth party in the War of the Three banners that I wouldn’t mind seeing being expanded upon, and I don’t mean adding them as an additional race, but expanding upon them through a DLC that may look at perhaps adding the Maomer as a contender to one of the Three Alliances.
So, this skill line is all about Piracy. It is a mixed bag skill line geared towards opportunism and sabotage, with an ultimate that I feel fits at least thematically and is somewhat balanced. I made this with the intension to make the skill line applicable to various situations, including the campaign, as well as on the seas, should this hypothetical DLC expand upon on ocean.
Let me know what you guys think, what could be tweaked, etc.
Privateering
Ultimate
Boarding Party
500 Ultimate
Open a portal and summon through a 3/4/5-unit strike team for 30 seconds. Each member has health, magicka and Stamina equal to 25% of the Player’s respective resources and a Synergy that can be Activated with the X button. The summoned unit classes are:
· 1/2 Foot Soldiers, with Onehanded and Shield/Dual wield weapons. Synergy is Tailwind, granting the PC Minor Expedition for 12 Seconds,
· 1 Archer or Destruction Mage. Synergy is Eagle Eye, granting the player the ability to debuff an enemy with Minor Vulnerability for 12 seconds.
· 1/2 Guardians, with One-handed & Shield/Two-handed weapons. The synergy is Loyal Bastion, which grants a Damage shield that absorbs upto 1200 damage.
Field Medic Team
Summon support units instead
Open a portal and summon through a 3/4/5-unit strike team for 30 seconds. Each member has health, magicka and Stamina equal to 25% of the Player’s respective resources and a Synergy that can be Activated with the X button. The summoned unit classes are:
· 1/2 Alchemists, with Onehanded weapons and alchemical bombs. Synergy is Fog Cloud, granting nearby allies Minor Evasion for 12 Seconds,
· 1 Healer. Synergy is Apotheosis, healing the synergising player and granting them Minor Mending
· 1/2 Guardians, with One-handed & Shield/Two-handed weapons. The synergy is Loyal Bastion, which grants a Damage shield that absorbs upto 1200 damage.
Elite Strike Team
Summon Stronger Units
Open a portal and summon through a 3/4/5-unit strike team for 30 seconds. Each member has health, magicka and Stamina equal to 35% of the Player’s respective resources and a Synergy that can be Activated with the X button. The summoned unit classes are:
· 1/2 Foot Soldiers, with Onehanded and Shield/Dual wield weapons. Synergy is Tailwind, granting the PC Minor Expedition for 12 Seconds,
· 1 Archer or Destruction Mage. Synergy is Eagle Eye, granting the player the ability to debuff an enemy with Minor Vulnerability for 12 seconds.
· 1/2 Guardians, with One-handed & Shield/Two-handed weapons. The synergy is Loyal Bastion, which grants a Damage shield that absorbs upto 1200 damage.
Alternative Idea:
An Alternative to the Preset units is to purchase them from a Drill Sergeant or a Captain. In which case, a morph could increase the number of units summoned.
Active Skills
Draw Cutlass – Toggle 1700 Stamina/second
Draw a Pyadonean Cutlass to attack your enemies with. Replace your existing Light and Heavy Attacks with that of a curved sword for melee. Light attacks inflict medium Physical damage with a 10% chance to inflict light Bleeding damage for 4 seconds while Heavy Attacks grant you a 25% Chance to evade the next attack you receive within 1 second.
Dancing Swords
Increased chance to apply dodge
Draw a Pyadonean Cutlass to attack your enemies with. Replace your existing Light and Heavy Attacks with that of a curved sword for melee. Light attacks inflict medium Physical damage with a 10% chance to inflict light Bleeding damage for 4 seconds while Heavy Attacks grant you a 35% Chance to evade the next attack you receive within 1 second.
Steel Wave
Increase Movement Speed while toggled on
Draw a Pyadonean Cutlass to attack your enemies with. Replace your existing Light and Heavy Attacks with that of a curved sword for melee, while increasing your Movement speed by 20%. Light attacks inflict medium Physical damage with a 10% chance to inflict light Bleeding damage for 4 seconds while Heavy Attacks grant you a 25% Chance to evade the next attack you receive within 1 second.
Mooring Strike – 2230 Stamina
Throw an Anchor and Chain at a target enemy, dealing Medium Physical damage and snaring the enemy for 3/4/5 seconds. Activating the skill again will stun the target for 2/3/4 seconds.
Barbed Chain
Deal additional bleeding damage over time for the Duration
Throw an Anchor and Chain at a target enemy, dealing Medium Physical damage and snaring the enemy for 3/4/5 seconds, dealing light bleeding damage over the duration. Activating the skill again will stun the target for 2/3/4 seconds and reset the duration of the Bleeding damage.
Grapeshot
Initial damage is an AoE
Throw an Anchor and Chain at a target area, dealing medium physical damage to all in target area and snaring one random enemy for 3/4/5 seconds. Activating the skill again will stun the target for 2/3/4 seconds.
Tar Trap – 1400 Stamina
Throw a bottle of tar at a target area, Snaring passing enemies for three seconds. Other players can use synergy skill Ignition to deal fire damage over time to the enemy.
Pungent Tar
Taunts Enemies after Snare
Throw a bottle of tar at a target area, Snaring passing enemies for three seconds and taunting them for 12 seconds. Other players can use synergy skill Ignition to deal fire damage over time to the enemy.
Toxic Tar
Deals Poison damage over time
Throw a bottle of tar at a target area, Snaring passing enemies for three seconds and dealing light poison damage over time. Other players can use synergy skill Ignition to deal fire damage over time to the enemy, which will end the Poison effect.
Flashbang – 2230 Stamina
Throw an unstable Alchemical mixture that Interrupts and Blinds enemies within 5 metres of the target area for 4/5/6 seconds, preventing them from using skills that consume health, magicka and stamina.
Incendiary Cloud
Inflict Burning on selected targets
Throw an unstable Alchemical mixture that Interrupts and Blinds enemies within 5 metres of the target area for 4/5/6 seconds, preventing them from using skills that consume health, magicka and stamina. Enemies are 30/45/60% likely to be afflicted by Burning, dealing Medium Flame Damage over time.
Sonic Boom
Knocks enemies back
Throw an unstable Alchemical mixture that knocks back and Blinds enemies within 5 metres of the target area for 4/5/6 seconds, preventing them from using skills that consume health, magicka and stamina.
Watchful Companion – 3400 Stamina
Summon a Sea Adder that guards you for 12/15/18 seconds. Enemies within 5 metres have a 30/40/50% chance to be Poisoned, receiving light Poison damage over 4 seconds (Procs on one enemy every 3 seconds.)
Frenzied Friends
Increases number of targets per tick
Summon a swarm of Sea Adders that guard you for 12/15/18 seconds. Enemies within 5 metres have a 30/40/50% chance to be Poisoned, receiving light Poison damage over 4 seconds (Procs on upto 4 enemies every 3 seconds.)
Aggressive Guardian
Increase duration of poison
Summon a Sea Adder that guards you for 12/15/18 seconds. Enemies within 5 metres have a 30/40/50% chance to be Poisoned, receiving light Poison damage over 6 seconds (Procs on one enemy every 3 seconds.)
Passive Skills
Manifest
When you speak to a Navigatorat the Docks, you can choose to commission them for an Excursion. This can be a Privateering Mission, a Treasure Hunt, a Siege at a Seaside Fortress, or a Hunt (involving world Bosses specific to the seas, which can include Dragons, depending on the area.) The Difficulty (1-10) is determined by the player’s skill level.
Pragmatism
Reduce the Cost of your Privateering Abilities by 8/15%
Privateer Hirling
Dispatch your Boarding Party Team to raid ships in your absence. Once per day, you have a 40/50/60% to receive gold/treasure, depending on your skill line rank
Whirlwind Dance
When you bash an Enemy, you have a 12/25% chance to push enemies 5 metres of you in a Whirlwind. This pushes the enemies out of melee range.
